Description

An authentic experience in the woods of the Pollino National Park, discovering the ancient art of truffle hunting, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. A tradition that tells of the double bond created between man and dog, and between man and forest.

It is not just a simple walk in nature.

Accompanied by an experienced truffle hunter and his trained dog, you will experience the thrill of searching for the precious truffle in the beech woods of Orsomarso, in the territory of Cosenza. During the experience, you will discover the different species of truffles present in Pollino and get to know the forest ecosystem in which this underground fungus grows and develops.

How it unfolds

  1. Meeting at La Catasta

  2. Transfer to the most suitable area based on the season and environmental conditions

  3. Easy guided hike in the woods of Orsomarso

  4. Beginning of the search together with the truffle hunter and his dog

The truffle grows underground, invisible to the eyes. However, its search is a practice made of listening, patience, and deep knowledge of the territory. It is here that the forest stops being just landscape and becomes a relationship.
