Description

Description

Riding through the landscapes of the Piana di Gioia Tauro is an experience that combines nature and history in a unique setting. The itinerary winds along paths immersed in larch, maple, and fir forests, where the rhythm of hooves becomes the very heartbeat of the territory.

The route leads to Antica Galatoni, a village founded around 1250 and linked to the fief of the Terranova family. A place that retains the charm of its medieval origins, when the Taureani used it as a center for commerce, before earthquakes and Saracen raids pushed them inland.

Today, the ancient mulberry plantations have given way to centuries-old olive groves that dominate the landscape. Walking among the ruins and fields, one breathes an atmosphere suspended in time: the scent of olives, the springs that flow silently, and the slow gallop of horses evoke a past that seems still alive.

The excursion concludes around lunchtime. Upon request, it is possible to book a typical restaurant nearby to extend the experience with the authentic flavors of local cuisine.
