Description

The Faunistic Diorama Museum, located inside the Poggio Pignatelli Fortress in Campo Calabro, is the first museum entirely dedicated to the fauna and habitats of Aspromonte.

Its four exhibition halls faithfully reproduce unique natural environments: from coastal wetlands to hills, from high-altitude forests to riverbeds. Special attention is given to the migration of large soaring birds of prey, which cross the skies of the Strait of Messina every year.

The guided tours and educational workshops offer an engaging and formative experience for schools, families, and groups. In addition to the museum experience, from the terrace of the Fortress you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Strait of Messina, where history and nature intertwine.

The museum is named after Sergio Tralongo, a naturalist from Reggio and esteemed director of the Aspromonte National Park, who dedicated his life to the protection of biodiversity.

From knowledge comes awareness.
