A hike in the heart of Umbriatico, among the woods and clearings of Monte Pescaldo, a SCI area of great natural value. An accessible yet immersive route, alternating stretches through greenery with scenic viewpoints offering views that span from the Ionian coast to the inland mountains.
Start experience
Departure near the village of Perticaro and entry onto the trail that leads toward Monte Pescaldo. The first sections pass through Mediterranean vegetation and woods of oaks and pines, introducing the area’s natural environment.
Key moment
The trail winds for about 6.5 km through woods and clearings until it reaches Cozzo del Pesco. During the ascent, the landscape gradually opens up, offering increasingly expansive views, all the way to panoramas of the Ionian coast, Sila and Pollino on the clearest days.
Return
Descent along the same route, at a more relaxed pace and with moments to observe the landscape traversed. A finale that reflects the variety of the route amid nature, quiet, and panoramic views.
