What will you do
A circular hike in the heart of Pollino National Park to reach Monte Sparviere (1,713 m), one of the area's most panoramic and wild peaks, overlooking the village of Alessandria del Carretto. A route among open ridges, high-altitude pastures, and one of the territory's most significant ancient forests.
Start experience
Meeting at Rifugio Tappaiolo and introduction to the hiking route. The guide explains the trail, the environmental features and the natural elements you will encounter along the loop.
Key moment
Ascent towards Lagoforano and continuation to the summit of Monte Sparviere. The route crosses open mountain landscapes and the Acereta of Monte Sparviere, an ancient forest of great botanical value, alternating panoramic stretches and areas for nature observation.
Return
Descent along the loop through Acereta and a stop at the mountain chapel of Madonna dello Sparviere, before returning to the starting point. A gentle finale that brings the route to a close among nature, silence, and high-altitude scenery.
