Description

An activity designed for those who want to learn about the wildlife of Aspromonte in an active way.

We will start from the Gambarie–Laghetto Rumia area and walk along the so-called "deer trail": it is rare to spot them directly, but the area is rich in traces and signs of presence (footprints, rubbings, passageways). During the walk (about 5 km, 100 m of positive elevation gain) we will include brief moments of observation, environmental reading, and recognition of signs, with small citizen science sessions through apps indicated on-site: this will allow participants to contribute to the data collection on local wildlife.

The pace is slow and informative, ideal even for those who are not experienced hikers, as long as they are used to walking on natural terrain. The activity is particularly suitable for school groups, families, and organized groups that want to learn about the territory in a scientific yet accessible way.

The route may be modified or canceled based on weather conditions and the safety of the group, at the guide's discretion.
