Description

The Pollino National Park houses a unique natural heritage, made up of mountainous landscapes, forests, and centuries-old trees. This hike leads to the discovery of the most famous of the loricated pines: the Patriarch, a symbol of resilience and longevity.

The itinerary starts from Colle Impiso and crosses the shady beech woods and the green plain of Gaudolino, where the view opens up to breathtaking panoramas of the massif. Continuing along the path, one reaches the Pollinello Hollow, an environment that tells the geology and biodiversity of this mountain.

Here one encounters the Patriarch, a millenary tree that, clinging to the rock, has withstood centuries of harsh weather. At nearly 1,000 years old, it is considered one of the oldest and most majestic trees of Pollino.

A trek that combines nature, history, and symbols: an opportunity to walk among the giants of Pollino and experience the emotion of standing in front of a creature that has endured through the centuries.
