Loop excursion along the route of the former Decauville railway of 1860, which was used for transporting timber from Ferdinandea to the Ionian coast, in the Site of Community Importance "Bosco di Stilo" within the Parco delle Serre, in a fairy-tale natural setting among woods of Holm oak, Chestnut, Beech, and Silver fir. From Monte Corvo, the trail will follow the ancient mountain railway, the trail reaches the Mangiatorella spring, inaugurated by the Garibaldian Achille Fazzari in 1904. Finally, we will arrive near the impressive steelworks of Ferdinandea, which still amazes us with its visitor areas. It was named after King Ferdinand II of Bourbon, as he was the king mentioned in the 19th century who established an important industrial complex for iron processing in this area.

Seasonality: all year round; autumn and spring are the best periods. In summer, the morning hours are recommended.
Access/terrain: not suitable for reduced mobility; possible slippery sections after rain.
