What will you do
A hike in Aspromonte to discover the Colella landslide, one of the most impressive geomorphological features of the area. A simple route but rich in environmental insights, among forest trails, panoramic viewpoints and direct observation of the dynamics that shape the mountain.
Start experience
Departure along paths and forest roads in the direction of Punta d’Atò, with an introduction to the geological context of the area and the formation of the Colella landslide. The route has no technical difficulties, in an increasingly open natural environment.
Key moment
Arrival at the observation points of the Colella landslide and landscape interpretation with the guide, to understand its origin and dynamics. Along the route, stretches through the woods alternate with views over the slope, with a shared lunch break at a forest refuge.
Return
In the afternoon, return along the same route or on a circular variant, depending on the terrain conditions and the guide's assessment. A slow ending that allows you to process the landscape observed during the day.
What you need to know
Comfortable layered clothing suitable for the season
Windproof/rainproof jacket
Trekking shoes or shoes with a treaded sole (no smooth soles, no flip-flops, no heels)
Water at least 1.5 liters
Pack lunch / contribution to the shared lunch
Report allergies, health issues, or specific concerns in advance
The itinerary may be modified or canceled even on the same day for safety reasons (weather, mud, active landslides).
