What will you do
An excursion in the Greek Aspromonte that combines forest, monumental trees, and river environment. A varied and immersive route that alternates wooded ridges with the bed of the Laverde stream, offering both landscape interpretation and direct contact with a wild, ever-changing ecosystem.
Start experience
Starting uphill from the village of Samo along the trail of the great trees. The first 4 km follow natural terrain with about 300 m of positive elevation gain, passing centuries-old specimens and ancient ridge routes.
Key moment
Continuation of the hike along the bed of the Laverde stream to the entrance of the gorges. The landscape becomes wilder and more dramatic, with interpretation of the terrain and guided stops, while remaining attentive to the condition of the ground and the guide’s instructions.
Return
Conclusion of the day after about 6 total hours, including breaks and moments of landscape observation. Return along the route or on an alternative path, depending on weather conditions and safety. An experience that brings together woodland and riverbed in a single territorial narrative.
