A hike in the Grecanic Aspromonte, along the Amendolea riverbed to Roghudi Vecchio: a place suspended between rock, memory, and myth. A route that alternates between water, abandoned villages, and rugged landscapes, where nature and local legends continuously overlap.
Start experience
Departure along the Amendolea riverbed trail with the first stop near the Foculìu Mill. Here the stream and the rocky ground offer a moment of rest and refreshment in the crystal-clear waters before resuming the journey toward the interior of the valley.
Key moment
Arrival in Roghudi Vecchio, an abandoned village perched on a rocky promontory. The visit unfolds among ruins, gullies, and Mediterranean scrub, with an interpretation of the landscape and its historical and mythological layers, from the Rocca du Draku to the stories linked to the Naràde.
Return
Return along the same route of the Amendolea river, with arrival expected in the late afternoon. The return brings to a close an intense experience among water, stone, and collective memory, where the landscape becomes a continuous story.
